90th Anniversary of St. John the Baptist

90th Anniversary Weekend Celebration to occur October 8-9, 2022

His Eminence, Metropolitan Gregory, will visit St. John the Baptist on Saturday, October 8 for Great Vespers at 4:00 pm. 

On Sunday, October 9, the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy will begin at 9:30 am with responses sung by the St. Nicholas Homestead Choir. A luncheon will follow at 12-noon at Pittsburgh’s Grand Hall at The Priory (614 Pressley Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15212).

Some important dates from our history include:

          Founding of our Parish: October 23, 1932

          Building Ground Blessing: March 28, 1937

          Consecration: August 11, 1940

In thanksgiving to Almighty God for all of the blessings bestowed in abundance for 90 years and prayerfully looking forward to His continued grace and guidance.
